2023 Outstanding Chinese ECG Physician Award

From July 28 to July 30, 2023, the 8th Asia Cardiac Arrhythmia Summit and the 14th China Cardiac Arrhythmia Summit, organized by the Asian Heart Rhythm Association (ACAS), was held in Kunming. Through a rigorous selection process and evaluation by authoritative experts, five specialists who have long been dedicated to the field of electrocardiography were awarded the ACAS Annual Outstanding Chinese ECG Physician Award. The recipients of this honor were Cheng Huaibing from the Fuwai Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Deng Guolan from the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, He Fangtian from the Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital affiliated with Zhejiang University, Wang Hongyu from the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University, and Long Xiangpeng from the Xiangtan Central Hospital in Hunan. The awards were presented by renowned experts in the field of arrhythmia and electrocardiography, Professor Fan Xiaohan and Professor Lu Xilie.





Cheng Huaibing


Associate Chief Physician in the Department of Cardiology at Fuwai Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. 

Dr. Cheng graduated with a Ph.D. from Peking Union Medical College. Currently, he is a standing committee member of the 8th CPDE/CMIA Cardiac Monitoring Committee, a member of the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering, and a member of the Cardiac Artificial Intelligence Group of the Chinese Society of Arrhythmias. He has led and participated in numerous research projects, including key projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and international collaborative projects. Dr. Cheng has published nearly 50 research papers, including over 10 SCI-indexed articles. He has contributed to the drafting of the "Chinese Expert Consensus on Standardized Chinese-English Primary Diagnostic Terms for Electrocardiograms".As a key participant, he has been awarded the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the First Prize of the Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Award, the Second Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, the Third Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Award, and the Third Prize of the Huaxia Medical Healthcare Exchange and Promotion Science and Technology Award. In 2023, he was honored with the "Outstanding Chinese Electrocardiogram Physician Award" by the ACAS. 



Deng Guolan


Deng Guolan is the Director of the Electrocardiogram Diagnosis Center at the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. She holds several prominent positions, including Chair of the Electrocardiography Committee of the Cardiovascular Physicians Branch of the Chongqing Medical Doctor Association, Vice Chair of the Second Electrocardiography Expert Committee of the Geriatrics Branch of the Chinese Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, and Standing Committee Member of the National Electrocardiography Network Working Committee of the China Chest Pain Center Alliance.
Dr. Deng is also a peer review expert and editorial board member for several academic journals, including the *Journal of Chongqing Medical University*, *Journal of Practical Electrocardiology*, and *Journal of General Practice Medicine*. She has published over 50 clinical medical research papers and co-authored eight books. Additionally, she was responsible for writing the electrocardiography chapter for a national key educational reform textbook focused on organ-system-based teaching.
Dr. Deng organizes annual national continuing education programs, such as the *Pacing Electrocardiography Training Workshop* and the *Liangjiang Electrocardiography Forum*, as well as the Chongqing continuing education program *Standardized Training in Electrocardiography Technology*.
In 2023, she was honored with the "Outstanding Chinese Electrocardiogram Physician Award" by the ACAS.


He Fangtian

He Fangtian is the chief physician of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine, and has been engaged in clinical electrocardiography work for 41 years. Currently, he serves as the Vice Chair of the Chinese Pacing Electrocardiography Working Committee, a member of the Chinese Society of Electrocardiography and the Clinical Electrocardiography Society, and an editorial board member for three electrocardiography journals. Since 2014, he has been leading the teaching of the National Electrocardiography Advanced Training Program and has edited two textbooks, Pacing Electrocardiography Topics and Comprehensive Electrocardiography Topics, comprising a total of 205 specialized topics.
Dr. He has published over 100 papers in 12 journals, including the Chinese Journal of Cardiology and the Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine. He is the author of four authoritative books: Clinical Electrocardiography: Detailed Interpretation and Diagnosis, Pacing Electrocardiography, Classic Clinical Electrocardiography: From Analytical Thinking to Diagnostic Standards, and Critical and Severe Electrocardiography.
In 1996 and 2008, Dr. He was recognized as an Outstanding and Distinguished Electrocardiography Professional by the Chinese Society of Electrocardiography. In 2023, he was honored with the "Outstanding Chinese Electrocardiogram Physician Award" by the ACAS.



Wang Hongyu

Wang Hongyu is a Chief Physician at the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University. She holds several prestigious positions, including Standing Committee Member of the International Society for Holter and Noninvasive Electrocardiology, Vice Chair of the Cardiac Monitoring Technology Committee of the China Council of the International Medical Informatics Association, and Associate Editor of the *Journal of Practical Electrocardiology*. 
Dr. Wang has conducted a series of studies on electrocardiographic indicators for cardiovascular disease risk, established databases for electrocardiograms (ECGs) and Holter monitors, and carried out community-based ECG epidemiological surveys. She has been instrumental in promoting remote ECG monitoring technology and the use of smart mobile ECG and blood pressure self-management tools. Additionally, she has contributed to the drafting and release of the *Chinese Expert Consensus on Remote ECG Monitoring* and the *Chinese Expert Consensus on Critical Values in Electrocardiography*.
Dr. Wang has led and participated in 10 research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, the Ministry of Health, and the Department of Science and Technology, earning five awards for scientific and technological progress. She has published over 100 papers in various journals and has authored or co-authored 40 academic books. She has frequently presented at international and national academic conferences and holds four medical patents.
In 2023, she was honored with the "Outstanding Chinese Electrocardiogram Physician Award" by the ACAS.



Long Xiangpeng

Long Xiangpeng is the Director of the Electrophysiology Department at Xiangtan Central Hospital. He holds several significant positions, including Standing Committee Member and Deputy Secretary-General of the Cardiac Monitoring Committee of the Chinese Medical Information Association, Expert of the Training Committee of the National ECG Medical Consortium Alliance, Member of the Cardiovascular Physicians Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and Member of the Electrocardiography Committee of the Chinese Medical Education Association.
Dr. Long pursued advanced studies in the Department of Cardiology at Peking Union Medical College Hospital and has visited the United States, Australia, and New Zealand to exchange knowledge on remote ECG monitoring technologies. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and the management of critical and severe conditions in cardiology.
In 2023, he was honored with the "Outstanding Chinese Electrocardiogram Physician Award" by the ACAS.
