2023 Outstanding Chinese Pacing Physician Award
From July 28 to July 30, 2023, the 8th Asia Cardiac Arrhythmia Summit and the 14th China Cardiac Arrhythmia Summit, organized by the Asian Heart Rhythm Association (ACAS), was held in Kunming. Through a rigorous selection process and evaluation by authoritative experts, three distinguished specialists in the field of cardiac pacing were awarded the ACAS Annual Outstanding Chinese Pacing Physician Award. The recipients of this honor were Professor Fan Xiaohan from Fuwai Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Professor Su Lan from the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, and Professor Chen Xueying from Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University. The awards were presented by renowned experts in the field of cardiac pacing, Professor Huang Weijian and Professor Li Xuebin.

Fan Xiaohan is the Director of the Functional Testing Center at Fuwai Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Clinically, she specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias, particularly physiological pacing techniques, with a surgical volume ranking among the highest both domestically and internationally. She has extensive experience in implanting cardiac electronic devices, including left bundle branch pacing, leadless pacing, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) for heart failure patients, cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillators (CRT-Ds), and subcutaneous ICDs, performing approximately 500 surgeries annually. Currently, she serves as the Associate Editor of *PACE*, a leading international journal in the field of cardiac electrophysiology and is a member of the Translational Medicine Committee of the International Society of Heart Research in China.
Her research focuses on the clinical and fundamental mechanisms of sudden cardiac death and physiological pacing. She has extensive experience in the molecular diagnosis and clinical treatment of various ion channelopathies, such as Brugada syndrome, long QT syndrome, and catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia. As the principal investigator, she has led 12 national and provincial-level research projects, including five National Natural Science Foundation projects, two Beijing Municipal Natural Science Foundation projects, and one Class A clinical research project funded by the Cardiovascular Branch of the Chinese Medical Association.
