On August 15, 2025, with the invitation of RSCM (RS Cipto Mangunkusumo) Hospital in Indonesia, Professor Yao Yan, along with Dr. Muhammad Yamin and Dr. Simon Salim, performed three 3D pulsed-field atrial fibrillation ablation procedures using the APT HT Viewer® 3D platform. Two of the three patients presented with Long-PersistantAF and left atrial dilation, one with post valvular heart surgery and scar atrial tachycardia, and the other with severe heart failure, all presenting as the most challenging cases for atrial fibrillation ablation. After the precise mapping and the use of APT PulstamperTM PFA ablation catheter and AForcePlusTM PFA ablation catheter, all the cases achieved optimal endpoints, with sinus rhythm. During the procedures, Professor Yao Yan engaged in in-depth discussions with physicians from Southeast Asian countries, sharing his experience and techniques in catheter ablation for refractory atrial fibrillation.
This was the first time that RSCM Hospital used PFA technology to perform cardiac ablation, and it was also the first time in Southeast Asia that a 3D-guided PFA cardiac ablation was performed. After the procedure, the lead physician Dr. Simon Salim, gave a high comment: “The system is good, with clear signals. Very simple for even beginner to learn. It’s easy and simplified for the case, we don’t need to use conventional EP recording system plus 3D system. HT viewer has a good combination of these 2 equipments together. The catheters are compatible with other brands. I will recommend it to other physicians.”

from 14 centers in more than 5 countries
The next day, Professor Yao Yan presented a keynote speech titled "The Challenge of AF Ablation and the Role of PFA" at the JAKC-RHYTHM International Meeting. He talked about the current state of PFA development globally, drawing on his own clinical experience. He fully affirmed the importance of PFA technology in cardiac ablation procedures and provided a perspective on the global development of "Chinese innovative solutions" in atrial fibrillation procedure. This live demonstration and academic exchange marked the successful overseas debut of China's PFA products. In the future, Professor Yao Yan will continue to uphold the principles of collaborative discussion and continuous progress, fostering in-depth collaboration and exchange with international peers to promote China's advanced cardiac ablation solutions, advance international arrhythmia diagnosis and treatment technologies, and bring greater benefits to arrhythmia patients worldwide.
